Breaking: First Week Vasool of 'Theri' in Tamil Nadu and Chennai

'Theri' has collected around Rs.35 crores across Tamil Nadu from Thursday (April 14) to Sunday (April 17).

We had earlier reported that Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 'Theri' has collected around Rs.35 crores across Tamil Nadu in its first weekend that lasted from Thursday (April 14) to Sunday (April 17). Now we have the exact details of the collections made by the Atlee directorial in its first full week in its home state.

Reliable sources in Kollywood trade circles confirm that the film has grossed around Rs.46-47 crores in TN Box Office in its first week starting from April 14, 2016 to April 20, 2016.

In the capital city Chennai the film has collected a whopping Rs.5.53 crores in its first week.

With positive word of mouth from all corners and the onset of summer holidays, 'Theri' is expected to maintain steam in the coming weeks.

Notably in its second week starting from tomorrow, there will be a bare minimum reduction in the number of screens showing 'Theri' in Chennai and other parts of TN. This, despite tomorrow's new Tamil releases 'Vetrivel' and 'Ennul Aayiram'. 'Theri' has been retained in all the main screens of SPI Cinemas and Devi Cineplex, the two main multiplexes in Chennai.
