“I AM MORE CONFIDENT TO TELL STORIES THAT I BELIEVE IN”

Nil Battey Sannata (NBS), the Hindi film directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwary hit the screens last week to a uniformly positive response. The film is soon coming to Tamil as Amma Kanakku (AK) produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films featuring Revathy, Amala Paul and Samuthirakani.
Ashwiny shares her thoughts on NBS response and also the effect that it could have on Amma Kanakku.

“I feel great and blessed that Nil Battey Sannata has got such good response. It just makes me believe that if you have a story which you make from your heart the audiences are going to accept you. They are far more reciprocative and intelligent than we imagine. I am more confident to tell stories which I believe in.

Now the wait for Amma Kanakku will just become better, since most of the audiences who don't understand Hindi would want to see it in their mother tongue. Definitely they will relate to it as they will see themselves in the movie since AK is shot keeping the Tamil culture in mind. We are a country of diverse culture, so although the spirit and the insight are universal, the setup will make all the difference for our audiences who relate to a certain language”.
