Recently, a Hindi film titled M Cream was released and it was claimed to be India's first stoner film by its makers. Now, it looks like Tamil cinema has got its own stoner film titled Simba. Starring Bharath, Premji Amaren, Bhanu Sri Mehra and Swetha Ashok in prominent roles, Simba is directed by Arvind Sridhar and has been bankrolled by K Sivaneswaran under Magic Chair Films.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Premji Amaren has said he has bagged one of the most quirkiest of roles in the film, which will showcase Bharath as a stoner. "I play Bharath's grandfather and a dog in this film. This movie has a wacky screenplay in which Bharath is shown to be hallucinating. I appear in human form only to Bharath, while others see me as a dog," he has said. Speaking about his costume in the film, Premji has said: "I had to wear a Great Dane mascot costume and it was super difficult during peak summer." Meanwhile, Premji is also excited about his brother Venkat Prabhu's upcoming film Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings, in which he plays a father to four kids.
