This April, Indian supermodel Carol Gracias broke stereotypes by walking down the ramp with her baby bump. Yesterday, mom-to-be Kareena Kapoor-Khan made another important point as she walked the ramp as the showstopper for designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee's bridal-wear collection at the grand finale of the ongoing Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016.
Kapoor looked resplendent in a grey lehenga and heavily embroidered kurti embellished with gold threadwork. "Everyone made this edition so special for me. For me, it's quite an emotional moment as this was the first time we (she and her future child) took the ramp together. It was a moment to cherish," the actress toldIANS.
"I was happy and confident. A pregnant woman can walk and fly and for me it's absolutely normal. When it comes to my work, acting is my passion and I will work till I die. As long as I am doing what I love, I am going to do that," she added.
In the last few months, Kapoor has been critical of media speculations about the impact of pregnancy on her career. "I'm pregnant, not a corpse. And what maternity break? It's the most normal thing on earth to produce a child. It is high time the media back off, and stop treating me any different than I ever was. Anybody who is bothered shouldn't work with me... but my work goes on as is, like always," she saidin July.
