ean-Claude Van Damme has officially anounced his return for the much anticipated third installment of the original 1989 Kickboxer movie. The third part has been named as Kickboxer: Retaliation and it will be a sequel to Kickboxer: Vengeance.
The Belgian martial artist and actor had featured in the lead of the original 1989 Kickboxer movie, which then had been a huge hit at the box office. Here in this movie, Van Damme will be seen in the role of a karate master.
Dimitri Logothetis, who is a trained martial artist and himself holds two Black Belts, had earlier produced and written the second installment in the series Kickboxer: Vengeance, is now directing the sequel.
Dimitri is all praises for the Belgian actor and says, "JC brings his charisma and martial arts talents to 'Kickboxer' as no other actor can."
Shooting for the film will soon begin in Thailand in the coming week. And to add more surprise elements, film-makers and producers have roped in the star football player Ronaldinho for the sequel. The sequel will also feature Mike Tyson and Hafpor Julius Bjornsson in the leads.
The upcoming movie is expected to show off some of the most deadly martial art stunts, and is going to be one of the most visually engrossing martial art movies of the recent times, said a source.
