Come September the dashing Mel Gibson is starting filming for his new movie ‘The Professor and the Madman’ which chronicles the creation of the Oxford English Dictionary. It is reported that Gibson has the rights for the film for nearly twenty years and will be producing as well. The film will be helmed by Farhad Safinia who wrote the global hit ‘Apocalypto’ which Gibson directed.
Mel Gibson plays professor James Murray, who began compiling the OED in 1857 and talks are on with Sean Penn to portray Dr. William Chester Minor, who submitted more than 10,000 entries while he was an inmate at an asylum for the criminally insane. Now doesn't this project have Oscar written all over it ?
