"THE CHARACTERS I PLAYED WERE MORE GLAMOROUS" - RANYA RAO

Ranya Rao’s first Tamil film Wagah is hitting the screens today. In a quick chat, she discusses her debut project and much more.
What’s your role in Wagah?
In Wagah, I play a Kashmiri girl who falls in love with young, well-built and handsome BSF soldier in India.
The difference between Kannada Industry and Tamil Industry?
Not much difference except for the roles I chose. In Kannada, the character I played were more glamorous, but here in my debut film Wagah, the character is more intense. I’m very excited about the release.
Your experiences at Wagah border?
We shot in Pahalgam, Kashmir and a few extreme border locations which had very tight securities. It was nice to see lots of people who were in Yatra as it was the Yatra season. Apart from all this, it was a physically challenging experience shooting there. I remember Vikram told me once, only actors get to experience a lot more than the normal people, which was very true and personally it was fun.
Future Projects?
Hearing few scripts will be announced once they are official.
All the best Ranya.
