Hansika made her acting debut in the Telugu film 'Desamudur' in they year 2007 and won the Filmfare award for the Best Female debut of the year. After acting in a few more Telugu films she entered Kollywood playing the female lead in Dhanush starrer 'Mappillai' in 2011. Since then she has been acting in many commercial super hit films and remains as one of the most sought after heroines.
She acted with Jayam Ravi in the romance flick 'Engeyum Kadhal' which was a super hit. In her third film, she got to pair up with Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the film 'Velayudham' which again turned out to be an all-class super hit. Prominent among her Tamil films are 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi', 'Theeya Vela Seyyanum Kumaru', 'Singam 2', 'Aranmanai' and its sequel that released earlier this year 'Romeo Juliet' and 'Manithan' which has emerged as one of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful films of the year.
She is presently acting in 'Bogan' with Jayam Ravi and Aravind Swamy.
