Vikram is my best friend- Says Ilayathalapathy Vijay !
Illustrious list of stars turned up for Kappal's audio launch and made it a memorable event. Shankar, Rahman, Vijay and Vikram on one single stage. With exciting dance and singing performances as part of the tribute to Vikram and Rahman, the audio launch function also included a funny skit from team Kappal. With all the celebrated film-personalities, there was lot of sneak-peak film news and nostalgia. Let's go on a trip in a ship.
The following is what the invitees had to say at Kappal audio launch!
Vijay- If Shankar sir has decided on buying a film, what more you want? Shankar sir likes the movie? What more will the director want? With him coming into the picture, the film is a success already. Team kappal looks young and energetic. The posters and the songs are super fresh. I wish the team all the very best. Thanks a lot for inviting me. It's nice to bump into my best friend Vikram. Kappal will make it to the shore.
Shankar- I'm happy about coming into production after a gap of 4 long years. Kappal is a funny, smart love story. I liked it the minute I watched it. It is hilarious and different. It will for sure work big time with the youth. Story of a loser, which has been engagingly told. Natarajan has given some lively numbers. The songs will be a pleasure to listen to. Thanks to my team and of course special thanks to Rahman, Vijay and Vikram to have graced the event. Rahman is already busy with a slew of projects. Lingaa re-recording is happening in full swing. An international project with highly acclaimed Majid-Majidi also is going on. Amidst all this, the Isaipuyal has come down for us. I'm so thankful to him.
Vikram, I just don't have any words to explain his dedication. He's been dubbing back to back in three languages for I. He is dead-tired actually. One of the nicest human beings I have come across in life. I call him Mr. Steel. He started off as a dubbing artist. He was the one who voiced for Prabhu Deva in Kadhalan. Now for I, he's dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, all by himself. Especially for the Kooni role, he had to literally hold his throat real tight, so to emote the character properly. He could barely talk post the dubbing sessions. Now he is here, dressed all nice and smiling before us. Post Anniyan, he almost became one in our family. I go to his family functions and he comes to mine. This is one such event he has come, just on my request. More than me, he's worked so hard for I. At least for him, the film should become a success.
Vijay is actually busy with the Chimbudevan project. I called and asked if he could come for the launch. His immediate reply was, "Okay na'. I was shocked. I just asked him once and he right-away said okay. He told me, "What brother? You've asked, how will I not come? From the Nanban days, he's become my Nanban. Thanks to him for making this event really special.
I wish the team and the producers, coincidentally named, the ‘I productions’ all the very best. I'm so happy to have associated myself with such a movie. Vaibhav and director Karthik have come with a quality product. Wait for the Kappal to hit the theatres. It will enthral you with out and out fun.
Vikram- Please don't ask any questions about the movie I. This is Kappal audio launch. Shankar is my guru. I'm just one fortunate actor who gets to be part of his dream. This movie Kappal is not 'A' or 'U/A' certified, it is "S" certified. A movie certified by Shankar's S pictures. If he likes a movie, the whole world will love it. Congratulations on the audio launch.
With the trailer and the audio CD released by Rahman, Vijay and Vikram, the event ended on a high!
